Space Car is a road movie compressed into a single summer afternoon, taking place almost entirely inside a minivan moving through Brooklyn. Serena -Jamaican age 18-22 has been in New York for only a month and the spark has already died. After stumbling out of a club at sunrise, she tells her cousin Jason age 23-25 that she wants to go back to Jamaica. Instead, he convinces her to join him and two young Floridians on a trip to the beach. Packed inside an overheated minivan the group drifts through NewYork's outer edges while passing time with music and conversation about their dreams and fears.

Roles

Serena- Real Jamaican young womanPrincipal
Must Speak Real Jamaican Patois. Appears age 18-22 years old, must be able to speak very convincing patois and have a Jamaican accent. Open to casting older if they look in this age range.
Jason - Real Jamaican young manPrincipal
Jason: Jamaican man, appears 22-25 years old slightly older than Serena, must be able to speak very convincing patois and have a Jamaican accent. Open to casting older if they look in this age range. Jason should look slightly older than Serena. Jason is a closeted gay man but presents very straight. There are no intimacy scenes other than a half second hand touch.
